{Review} Black Sugar Perfect First Serum 2X Essential

Hello everyone, hope you’ve been doing well! Today’s  post will be about the Skinfood’s Black Sugar Perfect First Serum 2X Essential.

In case you guys don’t know,Skinfood is an affordable Korean brand that focuses more on skin care,but still has some makeup products like lipsticks,BB creams,concealers and so on.

Black Sugar Perfect First Serum 2X Essential

What is it?

A multi-functioning serum with black sugar extract that exfoliates, hydrates and soothes skin. It comes with its own set of dual-sided cotton pads. One side is used for exfoliation and the other side for aiding serum absorption.

My Thoughts:

Smell/Consistency-It is an watery consistency- no color with an  insignificant perfume smell.

Application-

After cleansing my face i put it on the cotton pads that they provide, one side is suppose to exfoliate and another helps your skin to absorb the serum. I honestly wouldn’t call this product particularly exfoliating. It feels really moisturizing tho.I would go as far as to say that this product might feel a little too heavy on oily skin. After you put it on your face it feels a little tacky but it absorbs pretty quickly.

Results-

For my combo skin it feels great, i use it at night mostly and sometimes in the morning before applying makeup, since it  really moisturizes and makes your skin look plump and ready 🙂

Ingredients:

Quite a long list…First 3 are:Water,Alcohol Denat and Glycerin but the list goes on with ingredients like fruit extracts ,sake,salicylic acid,castor oil (which is good for blemishes)witch hazel and so on.A major part of the ingredients are beneficial to your skin, however,i’m not too happy with the fact that butylene glycol is so high on the list,mainly because it is derived from petroleum so its not the best for your skin.

I would say if you have really sensitive skin you might want to pass,or, just try a sample and see if this serum is not breaking you out.

Price:25$ for 120 mL and you can find it on the skinfood’s american site and many other online stores. (If you are interested in where you can find korean skincare/makeup that is sent right from South Korea let me know, i might write a post about my favorite online korean shops)

Would i repurchase? Hmm,i am not sure to be honest, i will use it up and probably try something else,but i do see myself buying it again sometime in the future.

And that is it guys,my mini review of the Skinfood's Black Sugar Perfect First Serum 2X Essential, It is a little on the pricier side but i would pay more for my skincare :)
